Tennis Lessons

The Glenview Tennis Club offers one of the North Shore’s most extensive and progressive lesson programs with classes for skill levels from beginning to advanced and from ages preschool through adult. Our experienced teaching professionals customize their teaching styles to make certain all students get the most from their lesson experience. We pride ourselves on taking the time to get to know our students to assure that they are placed with the correct instructor who will meet their individual needs and ensure their success with the game. Indoor Lessons
The Tennis Club offers three sessions of indoor tennis lessons for children and adults throughout the indoor tennis season as well as a Spring &  Summer session.

Junior lessons begin with the Quick Start program for ages 4-10 and continue with beginning through competitive level instruction for youth through teens.

Adult group lessons are available for levels 1.0 (beginning) through 4.5 (advanced) players as well as a Tenni-Fit class which uses tennis to promote a more strenuous workout and aerobic fitness.

The next session of indoor tennis lessons for children and adults will begin in November and last 11/12 weeks. To download a copy of Junior Tennis Lesson schedule for Session 2, click here. Anyone currently enrolled in a Session I class may re-enroll in their class for Session II by returning the pre-printed registration form they receive in their class the week of October 26 to the Tennis Club by Sunday, November 9. Tennis Club members and Little/Big Hitters participants may also register online by November 9. Open Registration for members will take place on November 15 at 9 am.

Non-member Open Registration begin at 10 am on November 15. Lesson fees for non-members are 25% higher.

Outdoor Lessons
The Tennis Club also offers outdoor lessons for women and youth during the spring and summer seasons.

Private or Semi-Private Lessons
Half-hour or one hour lessons are available by contacting Head Tennis Professional Kim Andersen at (224) 521-2141.

Camps
Treat your child to summer tennis fun. . Swing & Swim Camp combines tennis instruction with swimming while Tennis Camp concentrates on tennis only. Lifetime Sports Camp combines instruction in tennis and golf with afternoon swimming. The Summer 2008 session of these programs has ended. Watch this space for information about the Summer 2009 session coming in January.

Glenview Tennis Club Lessons & ProgramsLeagues

The Glenview Tennis Club offers a number of in-house leagues for men and women at USTA levels 2.5 to 5.0. These leagues are designed to provide competition to many levels of players and to supplement their social game. Leagues are open to Tennis Club members only. Registration for leagues takes place in the spring. Current league participants are given the option to register first. Anyone wishing to join a league must sign up for a league rating prior to participation. Special Programs
The Glenview Tennis Club offers a number of special programs throughout the year.

 

Tournaments
Includes junior singles and parent-child. The junior tournament is in November. There are also several United States Tennis Association tournaments during the year.

Glenview Tennis Club Lessons & ProgramsHoliday Camp
A Holiday Tennis Camp for youth is held during the winter school holiday break.

Pot Luck
A weekend program with play from 12-2 pm on Saturdays. Priority is given to members. Registration is Monday through Friday of the week preceding play. A maximum of 16 players can be accommodated in the program.

Round Robin Singles Tournament
A round-robin format tournament for women at levels 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 and Open Division that lasts for the entire season. Participants must be Tennis Club members. Prizes are awarded to division winners at the end of the season.

Glenview Women's & Men’s Tennis Clubs
The Glenview Women's & Men’s Outdoor Tennis Clubs operate under the auspices of the Glenview Park District. The purpose of these groups is to provide an opportunity for women and men in the Glenview Park District to play tennis on both a competitive and social level during the outdoor season. The members are offered tournaments and competitive team play to help fulfill these needs. The clubs provide competition for all ability levels while encouraging a friendly atmosphere among its members. Information on joining these groups is available at the Glenview Tennis Club each spring.
