Winter Lottery Registration Deadline November 25

The Glenview Park District's Winter Guide has been mailed to all park district residents and resident lottery registration for winter programs is now being accepted. Residents may now submit registrations to be included in the resident lottery by mailing, dropping off or faxing their registration forms to Park Center or online by clicking on the link at right.

The lottery registration deadline for residents will be Tuesday, November 25 at 7 pm. Open registration for residents and nonresidents will begin online and at Park Center on December 5 at 9 am. For more information on park district registration procedures, click here.

Parent-Child Turkey Shoot
Sat., Nov. 22, 1-2:30 pm
Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave.

Kids, here's a chance to team up with a parent can team up and win your family's Thanksgiving turkey with some sharp basketball shooting. Each competitor tries 10 free throws and the pair with the highest total wins. Competitors are divided into groups according to age: 4 & 5 year olds, 6 & 7 year olds, 8 & 9 year olds, 10 & 11 year olds, and 12 & 13 year olds. Registration deadline for this program is Nov. 15 at 7 pm or when filled. Register at Park Center or online using program ID # 102303.

 



Northfield Township Road District Recycling Program

Saturday November 22, 9 am-noon

Residents and businesses in Northfield Township will have the opportunity to recycle electronics, oil, batteries and other difficult to recycle items on two Saturdays in November at the times listed above. On-site document shredding will also be available, a maximum of three containers, bags or boxes per person. This recycling event will take place at 1928 Lehigh Ave. in Glenview. Make wonderful holiday memories for your children, watching their eyes fill with delight when they meet Jolly Old St. Nick at The Cafe's Breakfast with Santa Claus. Enjoy a buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, ham, French toast sticks, bagels, sweet rolls, mini donuts, juices, milk and coffee. Park Board Nominating Petitions Available

Anyone interested in running for one of three seats on the Glenview Park District Board of Commissioners to be contested in the April 7 local election may pick up a nominating petition at the Glenview Park District Administrative Office, 1930 Prairie St. during regular office hours from 9 am to 5 pm beginning October 28. The deadline for filing signed nominating petitions will be 5 pm Monday, January 26. For detailed information on the election and candidate requirements, click here.


A Public Safety Reminder from the Glenview Park District
Daylight hours growing shorter and people feeling stressed by the economy can combine to make an ideal recipe for an increase in criminal activity. The park district reminds you to stay safe by remaining vigilant about what’s going on around you and calling 911 to report any suspicious activity.
