Group Exercise classes can be an important component of your fitness regimen. Park Center Health & Fitness offers two types of Group Exercise classes: Passport Classes and Specialty Classes.
PASSPORT CLASSES
Want to try a new class without making a long-term commitment? Then purchase a Park Center Health & Fitness Group Exercise Passport.
Glenview Park District Group Exercise Classes offer:
Variety. From low impact aerobics and yoga to high energy Zumba and spin classes, we offer over 90 classes each week and are constantly adding new programs to bring you the latest trends in fitness.
Flexibility. Classes are offered seven days a week throughout the day so you’re sure to find a time and class that fits your schedule.
Value. Group Exercise Passports are available in denominations of 5, 10, 20 or 40 classes so you can choose the passport that’s right for you. The higher the passport denomination, the less you pay per class. A PCHF membership is not required to purchase a Passport. Passports expire six months from date of purchase. Please see the price chart below for Passport fees.

FALL PASSPORT CLASSES (9/2-12/19/08)
Yoga:
For all levels of fitness. This class relaxes, strengthens and soothes the body and mind. The focus is on increasing flexibility, balance, and strength through various postures and breathing.
Healing/Gentle Yoga:
Suitable for beginners, seniors, and those with limitations or prior injury. Harness your mind and body’s natural healing potential.
Vinyasa Yoga/Forrest Yoga:
An energetic yoga practice that connects the breath (pranayama) to movement with longer held poses (asanas). This practice will allow you to refine postures and to move beyond limitations of the body and mind.
Yin & Yang Yoga:
Start by targeting connective tissues, ligaments and tendons with long held floor stretches. Follow up with a vigorous vinyasa flow to complete this perfectly balanced yoga class.
Pilates - Beginner/Advanced:
A full body mat-based exercise class based on techniques developed by Joseph Pilates. Concentrate on restoring muscular balance, building strength, increasing flexibility and improving coordination, while improving body alignment and posture through core strength and stability.

Core Fusion:
A multi-level total body workout focusing on core strength and flexibility with cardio & strength segments. BOSUs, med balls & barefoot training are all explored!
Strength:
Strengthen with weights, tubing, fitness balls, medicine balls, dumbbells, etc. Proper technique and form are emphasized to create a workout that is effective, fun and safe.
Step Circuit:
Combine cardiovascular segments on the step with strength segments to increase both cardiovascular and muscular endurance.
Senior Fit:
A workout on the lighter side that includes muscle toning and balance work geared for the mature adult.
Zumba:
Combine high-energy and motivating music with unique and easy moves that allow you to dance your worries away. Great for the body and mind. A feel-happy workout for all!
Zumba Gold:
Zumba Gold is designed for the active, mature adult population or the true beginner participant. Improve coordination and balance with this easy to follow workout. Zumba Chair workout available.
Zumba Steps:
Learn the break down of the basic dance steps used in Zumba as well as tighten, tone, lengthen and strengthen your muscles. Emphasis and strong focus on working core muscles.
LiteFitMix:
An easy mix of cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and stretch. Great for beginners or novice level exercisers, seniors, or anyone looking for a lighter, effective workout.
Total Body:
Get a complete workout! Classes vary and may contain step, kickbox, strength, sports conditioning exercises and more. Abdominal work and stretches complete a Total Body workout.
Lo Impact:
Fitness for all ages! Adjust the intensity levels to meet your needs in this joint-friendly workout. Options will be offered for a low/moderate to intense workout.
NEW! Gyrokinesis:
A mind-body class incorporating rhythmic, full-body undulting yoga-like movements both standing and seated. A class to please beginners and advanced students of yoga and other movement disciplines.
NEW! Adult Recess:
Be a kid again with recess sports like 500 fly ball, volleyball, soccer, flag football, sponge ball tennis, floor hockey, playground Olympics, basketball, dodgeball and more! Utilize an ever-changing mix of sports activities in 5-15 minute competitive segments for a great workout!
Hip Hop Tone:
Take the hottest hip hop music old and new, break down the moves into cool dance steps for your cardio, and finish it off with weights and abs for a well-rounded fresh and new workout.
SPIN CLASSES
Bike reservations required. Bike reservations held only three minutes past the start of class. Call (847) 657-3249 to reserve a bike 24 hours prior to class.
Spin:
A non-impact, high-energy cardiovascular ride on a stationary bike. Builds strength, endurance and stamina – a great form of cross-training year round!
Spin & Core:
Use the first 45 to 55 minutes of class for your cardio workout and the remaining time to develop core strength.
Spin & Yoga:
Cycle first then increase flexibility, balance and strength with yoga.
WATER FITNESS CLASSES
Aqua:
A general conditioning class in the water to work all aspects of fitness: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and improved body composition. Uses aqua dumbbells, noodles or resistance bands for strength training.
Light Aqua:
A great class for individuals desiring a lighter workout in the water. Appropriate for participants recovering from hip and knee replacements, those looking to reduce joint pain, or to increase range of motion, joint strength and flexibility.
Deep H20:
Aqua Joggers, noodles or suspension make this a challenging water workout.
H20 Light & Warm:
This warm water class is designed for people with arthritis, limited range of motion or those looking for post-rehabilitation. Registration required. Space is limited. Not a Passport class.

*Take unlimited Passport Group Exercise classes for the duration of your annual membership by adding a Platinum Package Upgrade. A Platinum Package Upgrade can bring your per class cost down to $5 per class for once a week or $2.50 per class for twice a week. SPECIALTY CLASSES
Park Center Health & Fitness also offers a number of specialty fitness classes, which may utilize specialized equipment, are taught by instructors with specialized certifications and feature a limited class size.
